Challenge
What was broken
[01] Outdated design, no collection identity
Every wine collection followed the same generic layout, making them feel indistinguishable. The unique identity of collections like Picker's Hand, L'angoor, and Limited Reserve wasn't reflected in the website experience.
[02] Clunky WooCommerce booking
The booking flow involved too many steps before checkout. Grape stomping couldn't be booked online, guests couldn't combine multiple experiences in a single booking, and there was no time-slot capacity management.
[03] No walk-in tracking
Despite a high volume of walk-in visitors, the front desk had no system to record them. Without walk-in data, it was impossible to compare online and offline bookings or measure visitor centre performance.
[04] Missing store locator
Due to Indian alcohol regulations, Big Banyan cannot sell wine online. The website lacked a store locator, leaving visitors with no way to find nearby retailers stocking their wines.
[05] No brand storytelling
The website did little to communicate Big Banyan's heritage, winemaking philosophy, or vineyard experience. Limited content and an outdated journal gave users little reason to explore.
[06] WordPress backend limitations
The existing WooCommerce backend was difficult for the marketing team to manage. It lacked custom operational tools, meaningful analytics, and workflows tailored to the front-desk team's needs.

03. Storytelling was underutilized
The website didn't communicate the brand's heritage or vineyard experience.
04. Buying journey ended abruptly
Without a store locator, users had no clear path to purchase.
05. Operations relied on manual processes
